Easy A is September's entry in the teen romantic comedy world.And you know what, it looks like it's actually going to be pretty funny. I'm a big fan of Emma Stone and I think that she's got exactly what this role needs from a young, lead actress.
If you haven't heard about the movie it goes a little something like this: Emma Stone plays Olive, a straight-laced, A+ student with no reputation at all to haunt her. But then everything changed. As a favor to her gay best friend Olive fakes having sex with him at a party while everyone is listening outside the door.
While things could have just been left at that, they aren't. Olive is asked by other boys to do what she did with Brandon. And that's when Olive's life changed.
The 'A' in the title is a reference to The Scarlet Letter and that reference is used to its full extent throughout the balance of the film.
